The Cavalier King Charles changed inordinately at the end of the 17th century, when he was crossed with flat-nosed races. Until the 1920s, the Cavalier shared the same story as the smaller King Charles Spaniel. The breeders tried to recreate what they considered to be the original configuration of the breed, a dog resembling King Charles Spaniel of the Restoration of Charles II. Various health problems affect this particular breed.wikipedia
