4. Beagle
The Beagle is a small dog breed that looks like the big fox dog. The beagle is a hunting dog, developed mainly to hunt hares. With a great sense of smell and an instinct for top tracking, beagle dog is used as the screening for prohibited agricultural imports and quarantined foodstuffs worldwide. The beagle is intelligent but unique in spirit. It is a popular pet because of their size, a good temperament and the absence of inherited health problems.
Although beagle-type dogs have existed for 2500 years, the modern breed was developed in Britain around several 1830 breeds, including the Talbot Hound, the Beagle Northern Country, the South Hound and perhaps the Harrier .
Beagles have been represented in popular culture since the Elizabethan era in literature and paintings, and more recently in film, television and comics. Snoopy's cartoon Peanuts has been called "the world's most famous beagle".
